Scope
This policy covers the Geometry Dash Avenue website, Avenue Guard, the authenticated staff portal, staff applications, public recommendation pages, and bot-assisted activity in the GD Avenue Discord server. Discord also processes server and account activity under its own terms and privacy policy.
Public Website
Most pages are public and do not require an account. The Idea Generator runs in your browser and does not send its selections to GD Avenue. Public bot and level pages request approved service status, recent component-health samples, release information, recommendation details, and Geometry Dash metadata from Avenue Guard. Staff may choose to publish an About card containing their current Discord display name and avatar, staff role, and a self-written quote. They can hide that card at any time in the Staff Portal. About cards remain hidden when Avenue Guard cannot confirm the current preference.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell browsing profiles. Netlify and other infrastructure providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and time for delivery, security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
Discord Sign-In And Sessions
The staff portal and application area use Discord OAuth with the identify scope. Discord supplies the signed-in user's account ID and basic profile identity. Avenue Guard then checks guild membership and current Discord roles server-side. The browser cannot assign its own role or capabilities.
Sign-in uses a short-lived, signed OAuth state cookie. Successful sign-in creates an opaque session cookie that is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Strict, plus a secure CSRF cookie used to protect changes. Staff sessions currently expire after eight hours, and permissions are refreshed against Discord so role removal can remove access. A Dev may preview the portal with another role's effective capabilities, but preview mode is read-only, server-enforced, and does not impersonate another user. The portal stores only interface preferences in browser local storage.
Information Avenue Guard Stores
Depending on the features you use, Avenue Guard may store:
- Discord IDs, display names, role-derived permissions, and relevant channel, message, thread, or guild IDs.
- Level request forms, wave and edit history, review results, reviewer records, validation snapshots, recommendation type, queue state, hidden-state history, and outreach outcomes.
- Tickets, support forms, appeals, reports, bug reports, transcripts, attachments or links you submit, staff responses, and satisfaction feedback.
- Activity totals, weekly rankings and streaks, reward status, anti-farming signals, and daily or weekly aggregate summaries.
- Moderation and workflow events, forum enforcement records, command actions, errors, health measurements, delivery state, impact reports, and backup or restore records.
- Staff portal profiles and nicknames, manually managed team records, applications, age brackets, availability, timezone answers, written responses, selected level-review prompts, internal notes, tasks, queue claims, quality checks, and security audit events.
A failed lookup is recorded as unavailable rather than silently treated as valid data. Present-day Geometry Dash snapshots are kept separate from historical facts where the system cannot reliably know what was true at the time of a request.
How We Use Information
We use this information to operate request waves and recommendations, provide support, process staff applications and interviews, notify included staff about personal, assigned, and team tasks, enforce server rules, prevent abuse, calculate community activity rewards, authenticate staff, maintain reliable delivery, investigate errors, restore service data, and understand the community impact of Avenue Guard.
Our processing supports the community services you request and GD Avenue's legitimate interests in safety, moderation, service reliability, and improvement. Where consent or another legal basis is required, we use that basis. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the specific support or safety issue.
Staff Applications
Reviewer and Mod applications use configurable question types such as a selected age bracket, availability, timezone, short answers, long answers, moderation scenarios, and, for Reviewers, a written review of one randomly selected public YouTube showcase. The application page can suggest the timezone reported by your browser; it does not use a location service. Avenue Guard permits one active application per type and applies the five-day cooldown only to repeat submissions of that same type. Submitted answers are copied into a private Discord review thread for authorized staff. Staff may reject the application, accept it, place it on hold, create one or more private Discord interview tickets, or send a private application follow-up through Avenue Guard. Application decisions, staff follow-up text, and delivery events are retained for accountability and retry safety.
Do not include precise birth dates, home addresses, school details, private credentials, or unrelated personal information. The age question asks only for a broad bracket.
Punishment Appeals
A person may sign in with Discord's identify scope and submit an appeal even when they are outside the GD Avenue server. When the punishment-appeal form is opened, Avenue Guard checks the signed-in Discord account for an active server ban and, for current members, a timeout or one of GD Avenue's configured restriction roles. It may also read matching Discord moderation audit entries, when they are still available, to record the original timestamp, moderator identity, and reason. Discord audit entries are retained by Discord for a limited period, so an older date, moderator, or reason may be unavailable. Missing values remain unknown and are not inferred.
GD Avenue uses Sapphire for moderation, but this portal does not read Sapphire's private case database. If Sapphire supplied a Discord audit-log reason when creating the ban, that reason may appear in Discord's ban or audit fields. Avenue Guard records which Discord field supplied the reason and flags disagreements for staff instead of silently selecting or rewriting evidence.
When Discord no longer exposes a usable punishment record, an applicant may enter the punishment type, reason, approximate date, and identifying context manually. These details are labeled applicant-reported and remain separate from Discord-observed evidence; they cannot by themselves authorize an automatic moderation action. Appeals can also contain a chronological account, selected grounds, requested outcome, evidence links, private portal messages, staff assessments, internal rationale, and a human-readable decision. The submitted answers and punishment snapshot are preserved for review integrity. Authorized Admin, Owner, and Dev staff can review the case; the moderator who issued the punishment cannot be the sole reviewer or final decision-maker. If an appeal removes a verified punishment, Avenue Guard may unban the user, clear the timeout, or remove the configured restriction role through its durable delivery queue. This does not erase Sapphire's or Discord's historical moderation record.
The private web message thread is the canonical contact channel for an appeal. Staff may optionally ask Avenue Guard to send the same message by Discord DM, but DM delivery is not guaranteed and a failed DM does not remove the portal message. Upheld appeals may retain a minimal case-specific cooldown record for 30 days. Appeal and moderation evidence cannot be erased through the ordinary staff-application deletion control where retention is needed for safety, duplicate prevention, review integrity, or legal obligations.
Level Feedback Requests
Current GD Avenue members may sign in with Discord and ask a judge for private feedback on a Geometry Dash level. Avenue Guard stores the requester's Discord ID, verified public level details, selected feedback focus and project stage, the context and optional showcase link they submit, claim and status history, the judge's written response, and Discord delivery state. The request is posted to the configured private judge gallery, not to a public website or channel.
A judge may claim the request and send a response through Avenue Guard. The final response is queued for delivery to the requester by Discord DM; Discord may prevent delivery, and a failed DM remains visible to authorized staff for retry or follow-up. Feedback is advisory and does not create or promise a recommendation, rating, or moderation outcome.
Each member may have one queued or claimed level-feedback request at a time. When a judge sends the completed response, a 48-hour cooldown begins before that member can request another review. The cooldown is tied to completion, not to the original submission time.
Requests, Recommendations, And Automation
Request validation may retrieve current public Geometry Dash level and creator information. The priority system can help order approved recommendations for staff outreach, but it does not guarantee moderator contact, a Geometry Dash rating, or any outcome. Human reviewers choose the review result and recommendation type.
A public page at /level/[level-id] may show a recommended level's public Geometry Dash details, recommendation type, date, thumbnail, and non-sensitive queue status. It does not publish the requester ID, private reviewer notes, exact priority score or rank, creator-point details, private outreach targets, claims, or internal audit data.
Avenue Guard preserves outreach episodes, private normalized target references, confirmed submissions, fixed 30-day observations, eventual official rating state, model exclusions, immutable prediction snapshots, network eras, and calibration summaries. These records support aggregate Bayesian estimates and capacity planning; they do not automate moderator contact or change review and queue decisions. Numerical estimates appear publicly only while configured evidence, freshness, uncertainty, and calibration safeguards pass. Public estimates are rounded and never include moderator identities, private routes, target-level statistics, raw posterior parameters, or staff actors.
Discord users may follow a public recommended level for Avenue Guard DM updates. Subscriptions and delivery state are stored durably with the subscriber's Discord ID and preferences. Major milestones and final outcomes are enabled by default for a requester unless their existing notification preference opts out; priority-band changes are optional and disabled by default. The website does not use browser push notifications or email for this feature.
Service Providers And Sharing
Geometry Dash Avenue does not sell personal information. Data is available only to authorized staff where their role requires it and to service providers that operate the system. These currently include Discord for identity, opted-in public team profiles, and community features; Netlify for the website and serverless gateway; Render for Avenue Guard; and Turso/libSQL for durable database storage.
Level IDs and other public Geometry Dash identifiers may be sent to metadata providers used by the validation and thumbnail systems. External images may be served by Discord, ImgBB, or the configured level thumbnail service. Information may also be disclosed to Discord Trust and Safety, safety partners, or legal authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required. Each external provider processes data under its own policy.
Retention And Backups
Records are retained only while they remain useful for operations, safety, appeals, historical integrity, reporting, or legal obligations. Current automated retention settings keep health measurements for 365 days, workflow and error records for 730 days, delivery records for 90 days, cached Geometry Dash validation for 7 days, and impact snapshots for 1,095 days. Other core records, including reviews, applications, interview tickets, transcripts, moderation evidence, staff audits, and recommendation history, may be retained longer when continuity or accountability requires it. A Dev applicant can remove their own stale application database record through a confirmed reset; already-created private Discord threads or interview channels may remain for audit integrity. When recently submitted application content is deleted, a minimal record containing the Discord user ID, application type, and cooldown expiry is retained so the reduced 24-hour cooldown cannot be bypassed. Hiding a level removes it from normal and public workflows but retains the reversible internal record and its audit history.
Turso is the durable source of truth. Encrypted transport, controlled database access, periodic backups, and restore checks reduce data-loss risk. Deletion from the live database may not immediately remove an item from limited backup copies, which expire or are replaced on their normal schedule.
Security
OAuth client secrets, the Discord bot token, Turso credentials, and internal service credentials remain server-side. The portal uses signed OAuth state, hashed session tokens, CSRF protection, server-side capability checks, live role refreshes, idempotency controls, private audit logs, and restricted API responses. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but access is designed around least privilege and revocation.
Your Choices And Rights
You may use public website pages without signing in. You can sign out of authenticated areas, clear local portal preferences in your browser, and avoid submitting optional form fields. You can also control your Discord account and server participation through Discord.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information associated with you. Requests may be limited where retaining information is necessary for security, abuse prevention, another person's rights, legal duties, or the integrity of moderation and review records. Contact GD Avenue staff through the Discord server and include enough information to identify the relevant record. For data controlled by Discord, use Discord's privacy tools or contact Discord directly.
Young Users
GD Avenue relies on Discord's age requirements and does not knowingly invite users who are not permitted to use Discord. Never submit your address, school, phone number, legal documents, private account credentials, or other unnecessary identifying information in public channels, requests, applications, or support forms.
Policy Changes And Contact
We update this policy when Avenue Guard, the staff portal, or our providers materially change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Questions, privacy requests, and concerns can be sent to GD Avenue staff through the GD Avenue Discord server.
